The 5th International Biennial of Textile Art will be held from April 1st to 25th, 2009 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Palais de Glace, organized by the World Textile Art Organization (WTA). The 5th International Biennial of Textile Art places its attention on those artists who choose to express themselves through fibers and weaving, resignifying through their work the concept of Textile Art, by taking away all boundaries and making it explode into many meanings and connotations.
Overstepping boundaries and combining different disciplines, those artists participating in the 5th International Biennial of Textile Art start from the mere fibers to merge into new technologies, venturing to follow new lines of investigation, fusing their quests and challenging categorizations but keeping the soul of textile materials as the integrating element.

The Stay in Buenos Aires Team

Buenos Aires is the most liberal city in Latin America. As an example, two years ago, it was legalised the same-sex civil unions. Marcela Cuesta, Buenos Aires’s sub secretary of tourism, said: “We’re quite an open society, with open criteria to accept visitors. That’s what we’ve been showing and that’s why gay tourism has nominated us as a gay-friendly city.”
In November, Buenos Aires’ annual gay pride parade attracted thousands of men and women to celebrate the birth of the first gay organization in Latin America. The parade starts in Plaza de Mayo, downtown Buenos Aires, Saturday 1rst of November at 18:00 PM, goes over Avenida de Mayo and ends in front of the Congress Palace.
Opera Pampa
