Saint Patrick’s in Buenos Aires!!!

Paddy’s Day is an anual feast day which celebrates one of the patron saints of Irelansd. Celebrated worldwide by Irish descendants and non-Irish as well, this day is all about Irish things… green food, green clouthing and party, party, party!!

Reconquista Street is THE PLACE to be for Saint Patrick’s Day if you stay in Buenos Aires!! Most of the Irish pubs are there and the party is right on the street… it’s insane!! The best place to be ;)

Places to celebrate… before and after, ’cause the party always goes on ;)

-This Saturday 14th at 9pm in Belgrano Auditorium (Virrey Loreto & Cabildo Avenue), the Great Celtic Festival of Saint Patrick’s will present Beltaine, Brian Barthe, Irish Feet, Na Fianna, all these irish music bands for a night that is just a a bit ahead of the Saint Paddy’s Day!!

- Cruzat Beer (Paseo La Plaza), present this march 14th since 10:30pm: Mac Mannus; on Monday 16th will be there Na Fianna from 9pm; and the 17th at the same hour, the band Calath!

-El Parque de la Cervecería, of Quilmes will be in Happy Hour from 8pm, offering lots of beer, bands and much more surprises!! Can’t miss it!

-Pang Events (facebook) has the “post-celebration”, with an organized party to Monday 23rd in Palermo Hollywood. The cost is $15 and the must condition: WEAR GREEN! :D

…all these events and parties are just one bit of what is really going to be Saint Patrick’s Day in Buenos Aires!!! You won’t forget it ;)

“The Day” Sabatini vs. Navratilova in BA Lawn Tennis Club

This March 14th at 1:30pm Gabriela Sabatini & Martina Navratilova will present an exhibition set in benefit of the F.A.I.A.M Miastenia Gravis Foundation.

The encounter of these great personalities will bring light to the homage to the all-times number 1 in the Argentinean Tennis.

After the first exhibition set between Sabatini & Navratilova, a lot of diferent benefit actions for the Fundation will be counting with the presence of ex players, plus a second exhibition of doubles with Paola Suarez and Patricia Tarabini (Olympic medal in Atenas 2004), among double mix sets with all the tennis players who support “The Day”.

The musical band of drums and percussion, lead by Santiago Vázquez will be presenting a bigger show in the Microestadio Malvinas Argentinas at 7pm.

March 21 and 22 “Camerata Lysy and Contemporary Ballet”

Right on the scenary that surrounds the Planetarium Park you will witness two unforgettable events:

Saturday 21st at 7:30pm the Camerata leaded by Alberto Lysy will present an open free concert.

In the other hand, the Contemporary Ballet group of the San Martin Theater will be on stage with a mixt program of Mauricio Wainrot pieces this March 22.

BUENOS AIRES QUILMES ROCK 2009!

This mega event will blow off all the loudspeakers in the city. Again in Buenos Aires, QUILMES ROCK 2009 will present in four days the most important bands of the national and international scene.

RADIOHEAD is the English band most expected of the season that comes to introduce us their latest album “In Rainbows” right next to Kraftwerk, consider pioneers of the electronic music and La Portuaria in the Club Ciudad of Buenos Aires. Also the legendary metal band IRON MAIDEN will be at the Velez Stadium presenting an outstanding show in the framework of its tour “Somewhere Back In Time”, joined by Sepultura, the Lauren Harris Band and more. Then Los Piojos will be showing “Civilización” the last production of this argentinean band in the River Stadium. Finally comes KISS, which will be landing in the River Stadium of Buenos Aires to celebrate thirty five years of rock’n roll, next to Ratones Paranoicos, Las Pelotas, Molotov and Massacre.

Definitely an appointment anybody will want to miss!!

The First International Film and Musical Documentaries Festival is now in Argentina.

This March 6, 7 and 8th at the Atlas Santa Fe 1 & 2 and Atlas Recoleta cinemas. Right after six successful editions in Barcelona and the preview of  “Oasis, Lord Don’t Slow Me Down” in Mar del Plata, comes In-Edit Cinzano presenting this Festival which focalize the attention of the public in the bests producers of the world.

The bests documentaries and films about national and international bands and musicians that left their mark on the history of music.

1st International Biennale of Flamenco in Buenos Aires

 From this February 23rd until March 1st all the manifestations of Flamenco Art will be presented by the best artists of the gender. Lagartija Nick, Merche Molina, Belén Maya, Rocío Molina, Héctor Romero and over 60 Argentinean and international artists leaded by Enrique Morente, the most important voice of Flamenco in the world, will turn OFF the silence and turn ON the passion. ;)

Besides this cascade of artists, the Biennale will be full of concerts, shows and short courses that will show to every participant, the evolution and validity of this gender.

These activities include every day free shows in the most importante bars of Buenos Aires. The ones presented in the Alvear Theater and in the San Martin Cultural Center will be pay. However, there will be a show with free access in the Outdoor Scenario “Escenario al Aire Libre” in the corner of De Mayo Ave. and Peru Street.

Ther will also be a photographic exposition of Ruven Afanador, every day in Alicia Moreau de Justo Ave. (between Belgrano Ave. and Brasil Street) in Puerto Madero.
