The most important annual exhibition of journalism photos in the world presents 200 images chosen among 78.083 pictures taken by almost 4.500 journalists from 124 countries.
Every year, an international independent panel made of thirteen members judges the material submitted by photo-journalists, agencies, newspapers and magazines from any part of the world. The best photo of the year 2006 is a colour image taken by the American Spencer Platt, agency Getty Images. Such picture is about a group of young people from Lebanese driving along a destroyed Beirut after the Israeli attack.
